25-262010 Wairarapa Spring Festival - Tinui Artists in Action Watch artists create their original work in the gardens of Willowbank Studio, the home of Barry Sears Glass, 3284 Castlepoint Road, RD 9, just before Tinui. Marquees and gazebos will be nestled amongst the rural studio environment with artists creating their original work whilst a local singer performs, food will be available to buy, there will also be a kids' painting area and other stalls from members of the Tinui Community. He is a Past President of the New Zealand Institute of Architects and was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 1996. 14Charity Trail Ride for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Sign in at 8am at the Tauweru Hall - Masterton/Castlepoint Road, 12kms from Masterton, signposted at Faulknor's Service Station at the north end of Masterton. Riders briefing 9.45am, start time 10am. Adults $30, junior riders $20 (16yrs and under)and kid's track $15. Suitable for 2 wheel and quad bikes. Helmets compulsory plus suitable safety gear for the day. Terrain - morning ride approximately 50kms plus an afternoon ride of 25/30kms and there will also be a children's track on the day.
14Molenberg Subseries Run, Walk or Cycle Race The Sarah Ullmer Molenberg Subseries event is to be held again in and around Martinborough with either a 21km walk starting from the Martinborough School at 8.30am, a long course cycle (55-65kms) starting at 8.45am, mid course cycle (35-40km) at 9am, short course cycle at 9.15am (15-20km), 21km run starting at 9.30am, 5-10km walk at 9.45am, 5-10km run at 10.15am. 14-15Lion Foundation Cycle Challenge The Lion Foundation Cycle Challenge from Wellington to Auckland will be passing through Masterton on the 14th and 15th of February. On Sunday they will leave Featherston at 12.30pm, go through Gladstone to Martinborough and arrive at South Belt Road in Masterton at approximately 2pm. On Monday they leave from the netball courts in Columbo Road at 9am and travel through the back roads to Pahiatua on their way to Palmerston North. There will be around 120 competitors of all ages plus their supporters for this 2010 event.
